                Fifties Music at it's Best

About the Band

The Sparkletones began as a garage band in the late 1950's and became a very popular local talent in the Santa Clara Valley during the Rock'n Roll years throughout the 60's.  They played on local television stations such as "Record Hop" in San Jose and the "Ben Alexander Show" in San Francisco.  They participated in the Battle of the Bands at all the Northern California County Fairs and appeared everywhere from garage parties to dance halls and car club shows.  Due to popular demand, they reunited after 40 years to play at their 40th High School Reunion and have made a huge comeback.

Music by the Sparkletones is enjoyed by every generation and makes people of all ages want to "get up and dance".  They currently play at local restaurants and nightclubs, including Zelda's, The Fog Bank and The Wharf House in Capitola, Bocci's Cellar in Santa Cruz,  Malone's in Scotts Valley,  Palapas in Seascape, The Britania Arms in Aptos, and The Elks Club in San Jose, Watsonville and Sunnyvale.  They have become the annual street band for the Crow's Nest 4th of July Street Party and regularly perform for numerous events including Anniversaries, Birthdays, Grand Openings, Car Shows, Reunions and other Special Occasions.

The Sparkletones are a seven-person band consisting of keyboard, drums, electric guitar, bass guitar, tenor, alto sax, and other special effects instruments, with one female and three male vocalists.  Their music includes Jerry Lee Lewis, Bob Seger, Harry Belefonte, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, and more..... bringing back memories of the 50's.
